Lavender is a favorite in our home.

From soothing skin irritations to helping us get deeper, more restful sleep, lavender seems to be one of the oils we turn to frequently.

The list of uses for Lavender is LONG

I am just going to share a few of my favorite ways to use this oil.

1. Lavender for Sleep

This one is pretty well known. Lavender can help you get deeper and more restful sleep! It is widely used for its calming and relaxing qualities. You can add a few drops of Lavender to pillows, bedding, or bottoms of feet for a restful night’s sleep. Some even take internally* for this purpose.

2. Soothing Occasional Skin Irritations

Lavender is all things calming and soothing, and that goes for skin as well! I love mixing lavender with coconut oil to soothe occasional skin irritations. Adding it to an all natural bubble bath is also a great way to get wide spread benefits for children. This can also help keep bathtime a little more peaceful 😉 Lavender also reduces appearance of skin imperfections. Love this oil!

 3. Diffusing for a Peaceful Home

As you can imagine, this calming, soothing oil is one we diffuse frequently. While we turn to it most often at night, there are times when the kids (and I!) just need to take a chill pill and refocus. You can also freshen your linen closet, mattress, car, or the air with a light mist of Lavender combined with water in a spray bottle.

 4. Easing Anxious Feelings or Tension

Lavender is great for helping to ease feelings of tension. I love to apply it to the temples and back of neck to soothe away stress, anxious feelings or tension. This oil can also be taken internally* to help you stay calm and peaceful.

 5. Teething soother

While my favorite oils for teething are Clove and Roman Chamomile, diluted Lavender along the jaw line can soothe your wee one as those stinking teeth trying to erupt from their precious gums. Please be sure to use 100% certified pure essential oils on your littles ones – many companies and oils do not have the testing needed to ensure purity and quality, and you could in fact be harming your child by placing highly concentrated toxins on their skin. Do your own research, or contact me (I’ve done all the research already!)

6. Cooking

Did you know you can cook with 100% certified pure essential oils? Experiment using lavender in cooking to soften citrus flavors and add a flavorful twist to marinades, baked goods, and desserts.
