DIY Essential Diaper Cream

Many mommas are looking for natural alternatives to commercial diaper creams.

These diaper creams can contain ingredients that can irritate baby’s sensitive skin. I have searched all over, and this is by far the best diaper cream recipe I have found.

This recipe is all-natural, very effective, and free of irritants. It’s also quick, easy and quite fun! I call it Whipped Butt Butter due to it’s creamy, luxurious consistency. It goes on like a cloud and melts right into the skin. Friends of mine have admitted to slathering it all over themselves, not just their baby’s bottoms!

  • 1/8 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1/4 cup raw Shea butter
  • 3 Tbsp arrowroot powder
  • 10 drops 100% Certified Pure Lavender essential oil
  • 5 drops 100% Certified Pure Melaleuca essential oil

Mix all ingredients together with a hand mixer. Should be “whipped” looking. Store in airtight container.

How it works:

The coconut oil moisturizes and provides antibacterial and antifungal properties. The shea butter moisturizes, seals and protects. The arrowroot powder draws excess moisture away from the skin (so it’s not over-wet, but still moisturized and soothed). The essential oils clean, soothe, protect and make the whole thing smell divine! Whipped DIY Diaper Cream with essential oils
