Muscle Chow. That’s the name of my husband’s new favorite cookbook (that I quickly commandeered!) And let me tell you, it is FABULOUS! So many healthy, high protein meals with no lack of flavor or blah factor. Every recipe we’ve tried so far has been a winner, and this recipe is no exception. It’s also super quick and easy – a big plus for a mom who tends to run a bit behind come dinner time =)
Being a girl who’s been in the kitchen since age 5 or so, I simply cannot help but alter almost every recipe that comes through my hands. I think it makes cooking that much more of an adventure =) If you want the original version of this recipe, I highly recommend getting the book. Like I said, it’s a winner!
Gather up some turkey, toasted wheat germ, eggs, Parmesan cheese, oats, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Mix it all up, then put on a cookie sheet and bake for about 20 minutes.
To make this process even faster, use a cookie scoop to form theplease, try to avoid burning your mouth when you inhale these straight out of the oven =)
1 ½ pounds lean ground turkey
½ cup toasted wheat germ
¼ cup oats
1 Tbsp Parmesan cheese
Salt, Pepper and Garlic Powder to taste
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Line two baking sheets with foil, spray with cooking spray.
- Mix all the ingredients together in a medium size bowl.
- Scoop out meatballs with a cookie scoop, or divide into 25-30 balls.
- Bake in preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until no longer pink and juices run clear.
